I've seen false-color images of nebulae that repeat similar patterns; and they're thousands of lightyears in width.
the laws of physics apply to things of all sizes. I love that we can SEE them at work and recognize their correlations. 50yrs ago we couldn't do that.

And people say science isn't art! I think it's all absolutely amazing. Imaging from all these things we've sent into space, mapping colors our eyes can't see and translating them into visually acceptable imaging...it's fantastic. I think the universe is amazing. I could rant about it forever. *trying not to* Haha.

& as for time scales: 50 years ago...100 years ago...how we've progressed is both awe worthy and terrifying.
